Trademetria — The best trading journal for crypto

Today my post is a bit different from what I’ve been doing. During these past couple of days, I’ve been looking for the best trading journal to register my crypto trades. I’m looking for a simple and intuitive option, that does not take too long to import my trades and provides me with relevant trading metrics so that I can evaluate my trading systems and optimize my strategies.

Trading journal “must-haves”:

· Binance API connection or Excel CSV file compatibility with Binance exports

· Intuitive dashboard and analytics

· Trading calendar

· Reasonable price

After much deliberation, I think Trademetria is the best option! And here’s why:

Binance compatibility

Although it has an API connection, you need to specify the assets you trade manually, which is not very efficient if you trade a lot of different ones. However, you can import your trades by exporting the Excel file directly from Binance. It works with spot and futures trading and it is quite easy and quick to do.

2. Intuitive dashboard and analytics

Trademetria also has a simple and great-looking dashboard that you can customize as you see fit. One of the problems of other trading journals is that they overcrowd their dashboards with data right off the bat, which can be a bit overwhelming.

This is one of the features I like the most — the Key Metrics section. Since I use TradingView for my technical analysis, I’m used to the data they provide in the strategy tester functionality. So these stats in Trademetria feel familiar.

3. Trading calendar

This feature is more of a psychological one. For me, it’s motivating when I see a lot of green days 😅

But on a more serious note, since trading is more of a side-hustle for me (I’m a doctor, so the amount of free time I have is a bit sparse), the calendar feature allows you to have an idea of how your monthly trading performance is by taking a quick glance at it.

4. Reasonable Price

This is where I feel Trademetria could improve a bit. At the moment there are 3 plans available. A Free, Basic, and a Pro plan. For most people who aren't day traders for a living, the Pro plan will probably not be necessary. Right now I’m using the Free Plan, but I find that the 30 order limit is too small. I’m operating Futures and, although it is mainly BTC and ETH, I’m in and out of positions fairly quickly. This means I easily get to 30 or more orders per month. I still need to explore Trademetria for a couple more months to see if it’s worth the upgrade to the Basic plan since the limit of 100 orders per month still feels a bit low to me.

Conclusion

All in all, I think Trademetria is the best choice for crypto journaling. Even considering the order importing drawback I mentioned, it has all the features I need and more, without overwhelming you with data. Hopefully, I will be able to use it to improve my trading consistency 💪💪

I am in no way associated with Trademetria and this post is just my honest opinion regarding the software. However, when you signup you get an affiliate link. If you feel this post helped in your trading journey, feel free to use mine when you sign up!
